Mr. Rhoades is an accomplished litigator and trial attorney with 18 years of complex commercial and matrimonial litigation experience in trial and appellate courts around the country.
Following graduation from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Mr. Rhoades moved to Philadelphia to attend law school. After graduating cum laude from Temple University School of Law and and completing a judicial clerkship, he joined one of the city’s largest and most respected law firms, Blank Rome, as an associate. With his years of “big firm” training, he learned not just how to be a litigator but also how to be a trial lawyer. After being elected to the Blank Rome partnership, Mr. Rhoades decided to use his training and experience to break out of the restraints of a large firm and start litigating in a more entrepreneurial manner.
For the past several years, Mr. Rhoades was the owner and managing partner of his own law firm specializing in complex commercial litigation, class action litigation, bankruptcy litigation and consumer fraud litigation.
Realizing the synergies between the work of his firm and that of the Gowen Group – and appreciating that the two firms shared a common culture and desire to speak truth to power by addressing injustices prevalent in today’s economy – in 2015, Mr. Rhoades merged his firm into the Gowen Group creating the firm Gowen, Rhoades, Winograd & Silva, PLLC.
Based upon confidential reviews submitted by lawyers and judges familiar with his nearly two decades of litigation experience, Mr. Rhoades has achieved the rating of “Preeminent” by the well-respected lawyer review publication Martindale Hubbell.
He is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the State of New Jersey and has appeared in various other courts throughout the country.
Mr. Rhoades is a private pilot, enjoys anything outdoors including golf and riding motorcycles and spending time with his family. He resides in Medford, New Jersey, and is the managing partner of the firm’s Philadelphia office.
