Criminal Law

Gowen Rhoades Winograd & Silva, PLLC handles all criminal matters in both State and Federal Court.

If a client has had previous contact with the criminal justice system, he or she may be eligible to have his or her criminal records sealed or expunged. Sealed records are not permanently erased but are made unavailable to the general public, and are only accessible to law enforcement personnel. Expungement serves to completely erase the client’s record. Each state has different rules and processes for the sealing and expungement of criminal records. In general, expungement is the preferred remedy, but is only available in a handful of circumstances.

Clients arrested for Driving Under the Influence (DUI) receive immediate attention to their case. Gowen Rhoades Winograd & Silva, PLLC attorneys understand how necessary it is to maintain a valid driver’s license. In order to properly defend a DUI case, our attorneys perform an extensive investigation into the facts of a DUI case and the methods used to determine an alleged impairment. Gowen Rhoades Winograd & Silva, PLLC attorneys also handle all traffic offenses, including the infamous camera tickets that seem to handsomely fund our local governments. If you have received a citation of any sort, our attorneys will examine the citation and break down your defenses. In some cases, our attorneys may appear in court for you, and have your appearance waived in order for you to fight the ticket without taking time off work.
