Jesse Winograd leads the firm’s criminal defense and construction litigation practices. He represents clients charged with all matter of crimes, from simple traffic through serious felonies involving drug and gun charges, assaults and other violent crimes. In addition to his own clients, he is trusted by the Superior Court of the District of Columbia and the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia-Alexandria Division to accept court appoints in criminal cases when the accused cannot afford an attorney. Jesse also represents clients in white-collar cases involving government investigations, mail-and wire fraud cases, and government contracting fraud cases. In order to provide complete service, he represents his clients in front of professional disciplinary boards and in security clearance matters that often accompany a white-collar investigation and prosecution.
As head of the firm’s construction litigation practice, Jesse represents homeowners throughout the DMV who have had the all too common misfortune of being disappointed - or worse – scammed by someone who they have trusted to work on their home.
What makes Jesse and Gowen Silva & Winograd stand apart from other lawyers and firms in these areas is that we go to trial. Many lawyers see the inside of a courtroom once or twice a year at most. There are very few private attorneys who have had as much trial experience as Jesse.
Prior to joining Gowen Silva & Winograd, Jesse was an attorney in trial-heavy practice of the Miami-Dade Public Defender’s office in Miami, Florida. He then joined the pre-emminent litigation boutique of Trout Cahceris and Janis PLLC.
