Sean J. Farrelly is a highly experienced trial attorney practicing in the state and federal courts of Washington, DC, Maryland and Pennsylvania. Sean focuses his practice on the representation of individuals who have been harmed by the medical malpractice and negligence of doctors, nurses, hospital staff and other medical providers. In addition to his medical malpractice cases, Sean works on motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, wrongful death and other personal injury matters.

Sean is driven by a singular purpose, the pursuit of justice. It is this singular purpose that motivates Sean to fight tirelessly on behalf of all his clients. Sean built his career and law practice around the notion that the judicial system is designed to prop up the rich and powerful and as such, someone needs to fight on behalf of those who cannot fight alone.

Sean fights for his clients against large corporations, insurance carriers, negligent medical providers and various government entities. Although big business, the medical industry and the government possess significant resources and manpower, Sean believes that tenacity and purpose can go a very long way in the pursuit of justice.

Sean began his career as a prosecutor working for the District of Columbia Office of the Attorney General. While serving as an Assistant Attorney General, Sean prosecuted over 500 criminal cases, focusing primarily on DUI/DWI and gun charges. Sean’s working knowledge of prosecution and law enforcement is an invaluable advantage for all his clients charged with crimes. Sean also spent time working for one of the nation’s largest insurance defense law firms.

Sean represented the same corporations, insurance carriers and medical professional he now fights against. Sean’s work defending these clients allowed him to “peak behind the curtain” and learn how these individuals and corporations try and avoid being held accountable for their wrongdoing. He utilizes his experience as a defense attorney to obtain better results for his personal injury clients.

As a trial lawyer, Sean has gone to trial in well over 50 cases in federal and state courts. He has been named as a Rising Star in the field of Medical Malpractice by Super Lawyers, a distinction bestowed on only 2.5% of attorneys in DC. In addition, Sean has a perfect 10.0 Avvo rating. Sean is a trial lawyer’s trial lawyer and has the skill, compassion, and experience to deliver results for his clients. He has taken on the Department of Justice, the DC Government, large corporations and powerful individuals and delivered justice to his clients. Sean never backs down from a challenge and fights for each of his clients every step of the way.

Sean lives in Virginia with his wife and three children. Sean enjoys playing golf, spending time with his family and cheering for the Terps, Nationals, Wizards and the Washington Football Team.
