Kayla Stuart joined the firm in 2017 and is currently an evening law student at the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law. Ms. Stuart will graduate in May 2018 with a concentration in Family Law. Ms. Stuart works with Christopher Gowen supporting his cases involving divorce, custody, child support and alimony. She also assists Mr. Gowen in managing other civil and criminal matters.
Ms. Stuart has worked in law firms throughout her law school career as a legal assistant, law clerk, and paralegal. In addition to family law, she has experience in employment law and election law. Ms. Stuart reviews and organizes discovery, performs legal research, and provides support during depositions and trial. Ms. Stuart has experience managing cases in multiple jurisdictions including, but not limited to, Maryland, the District of Columbia, Virginia, Delaware, Iowa, California, Texas, and the United States Tax Court.
Ms. Stuart is also President of the Evening Law Students’ Association at the Columbus School of Law and is an active member of the law school community. Ms. Stuart graduated cum laude and received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology & Criminology with a minor in Legal Studies from Texas Tech University in 2013. Ms. Stuart worked through her undergraduate career and graduated in three years. After graduating in 2013, Ms. Stuart moved to Washington, DC to intern under Congressman Gene Green before starting law school.
